 14: STORYTELLING FESTIVAL. Mable House. New this year is the Chore Challenge where children can experience what it was like to do chores when there was no electricity or modern conveniences.  New games have been added including Herding Pigs which should be entertaining to watch as well as participate. 17: ART COUNCIL MEETING. Nationally acclaimed artist, Marsha Hamby Savage, will be the keynote speaker for the Smyrna Arts & Cultural Council’s Annual Meeting on October 17, at 7 p.m. at Smyrna City Hall. Ms. Savage is celebrated for her colorful landscapes in pastel, acrylic and oil. The meeting is open to the public and it is free to attend. A small reception will follow the event.

31: FALL FESTIVAL: Cobb P.A.R.K.S. along with Cobb County Public Safety, Safe Kids Cobb County and Cobb County 4-H are hosting the 18th Annual Fall Festival of Fun on Tuesday, Oct. 31 at Jim Miller Park from 4:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. This event will provide the children of Cobb County a safe alternative to the traditional Trick-or-Treat in their neighborhoods. The festival will include arts and crafts, games, inflatable rides, police and fire activities, costume contests for kids and adults, coloring contests, a photo booth and other surprises. Parking, entrance to the park, games, candy and contests are free (there is a fee for concessions and inflatable rides).
